PT Kalimantan Prima Persada (PT KPP) is a one of mining industry services in Kutai Kartanegara Regency which operates in three villages. The practice of Corporate Social Responsibility in these three villages has used to giving cash. Nowadays, PT KPP seeks to change the existing pattern into a planned program. In line with this, this study aims to obtain an overview of CSR practices and challenges in order to optimize the use of PT KPP's CSR funds. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Based on the conditions, three main problems were found. First, lack of controlling from PT KPP in planning process. Second, low capacity of local human resouces so CSR funds are mostly used for social and infrastructure sectors. Third, economic independence program has not become a priority. Thris research suggest to enhance the programs that focus on improving community skills.
